    ACES Chase Academy Interdistict Magnet School is seeking a dynamic and qualified Certified Educator to teach 6th-grade science. As a nationally-recognized Magnet Schools of America School of Excellence, we are committed to providing a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for inquiry-based science education and the ability to engage and inspire students.     Responsibilities:

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality science lessons that align with state and national standards.
    • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and inquiry-based learning.
    • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and engage students in the learning process.
    • Assess and evaluate student performance using a variety of formative and summative assessment tools.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities.
    • Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance the science curriculum.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in science education.
    • Establish and maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives and programs.
    • Valid Connecticut state certification in K-6 (305) or science education in Biology 4-12 (030), Chemistry 4-12 (031), or Physics 4-12 (032). Physics Certification can result in high school teaching for the 2026-27 school year.
    • Strong knowledge of current science education trends and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in using technology in the classroom.
    • Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.
