Shelia's Transportation Services is a locally owned transportation provider proudly serving the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) and Durham Public School System (DPS).We are currently hiring dependable, caring, and safety-focused School Van Drivers to safely transport students with special transportation needs.

What You'll Drive
  • Passenger Vans
What You'll Do
As a School Van Driver, you'll safely transport students to and from school while providing exceptional customer service to families and school staff.
Responsibilities include:
  • Safely transport students on assigned routes.
  • Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure students are properly secured using seat belts, child restraints, wheelchairs, and other approved safety equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional vehicle.
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, parents, and school personnel.
  • Report route concerns, incidents, or vehicle maintenance issues promptly.
  • Follow all company policies, traffic laws, and WCPSS transportation procedures.
  • Help create a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for every student.
Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License
  • Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable driving history
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass:
    • Criminal Background Check
    • Drug & Alcohol Screening
    • DMV Record Review
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
Paid Training Provided
No professional driving experience? No problem. We provide paid training that includes:
  • Student Transportation Safety
  • CPR & First Aid Certification
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Student Securement Procedures
