JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Overview
The School to Career Coordinator will be the main contact person for the Watertown Unified School District as it relates to Career & Technical Education. This person reports to the WHS Principal and serves as a liaison between secondary buildings and the district office.
Qualifications
Must possess an excellent understanding of Career & Technical Education programming. This includes, but is not limited to, program and curriculum development, community partnerships, resource allocation, professional development, and data collection & analysis. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a lifelong learner, and can work effectively with administrators and staff
Education
The School to Career Coordinator must hold or be working toward a Master's Degree in Education. A degree in Career and Technical Education (5093) is strongly recommended.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate
Work-Based Learning (Youth Apprenticeship & Internship)
Plan to develop and sustain a robust network or local employers and organizations
Align partnerships with career pathways, student interests, and local workforce needs
Ensure all students (K-12) have access to career exploration opportunities and job placement support
Carl Perkins Grant development and completion (with the Director of Business)
An increase in student attainment of Industry Recognized Credentials, which closely aligns with our Strategic Plan - Post Secondary Preparation goal
Alignment of programs to district goals for:
Dual Credit/Post-secondary certifications
Workforce Readiness Indicators
Implementation of a coherent K-12 ACP framework, K-5 Focus (Awareness), 6-8 Focus (Exploration), 9-12 Focus (Planning & Action)
Integration of ACP into instruction, advisory systems, and family engagement K-12

THE DISTRICT: Selected candidate will help to further the WUSD mission to serve our students by providing educational opportunities to promote academic excellence and a lifelong love of learning and to lead families, students and staff in realizing the WUSD vision of inspired learners through student-centered education strengthened by community involvement.

The Watertown School District has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students taught in seven buildings. WHS's 75 teachers and 4 administrators serve 950 students on a 150-acre campus that includes two charter schools - Endeavor Charter School and eCampus Charter School. WHS provides an extensive curriculum for the students, as well as an array of athletic, non-athletic, and academic co-curricular activities for students.
THE COMMUNITY: The Watertown community has 24,000 residents and is located on the Rock River approximately halfway between Madison and Milwaukee, at the junction of Highways 16, 19, and 26.
