PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist the school administration in the overall administration of the instructional program and operation at the campus level. Coordinate assigned student activities and services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Master's Degree and Texas Standard Principal Certificate preferred
Certified appraiser in Board approved evaluation system
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Strong communication, organizational, public relations, and interpersonal skills Thorough understanding of school administrative operations
Demonstration of leadership skills in present assignment
Demonstrates effective use of current technology skills
Ability to speak Spanish desired but not required
Experience:
Three years of teaching experience
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Management
Assist the teaching staff in obtaining furniture, supplies, and materials necessary to carry out the instructional
Assist with admission, review, and dismissal procedures in Special Education, LPAC, and Assist in coordinating the campus standardized testing.
Assist in providing in-service training at the building level.
School Organizational
Assist campus administrators in the overall leadership of the school. Assist in the teacher evaluation program.
Assist in conducting safety inspections, safety drill activities, and general building inspections. Assist campus administrators in coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
Assist campus administrators in maintaining facilities. (e.g. Prepare and track work orders) Collect, distribute, and assume responsibility for custodial care of instructional materials. Perform record-keeping functions as directed by the campus administrators.
Assist in the monitoring of student attendance.
Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body. Conduct parent conferences as required.
Stay current on research developments and trends in public education and share information with staff members.
Assist in referring students to nurses, counselors, diagnosticians, and community agencies. Assist the campus administrators in developing, implementing, and coordinating a campus public relations program.
Comply with all federal, state, and local policies, procedures, practices, and laws. Perform any other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Share supervisory responsibility for professional staff with the school principal and assistant principal(s). Supervise teachers, custodians, paraprofessionals, and other personnel when assigned by the principal.

Occasional districtwide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
