School Staff Trainer, K-12

The Center for Teacher Effectiveness has provided classroom management training since 1993, and its trainers have worked with more than 400,000 educators in all 50 states. It's eligible for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global, and it comes with an orientation, complete training materials, and continued support.

Staff trainers lead the in-service days that schools plan for their teachers. We need more of them in Washington, Arlington, Alexandria, Silver Spring, and Bethesda, focused on classroom management for K-12 schools.

You'd train a school's full staff or a smaller group, in their building or online, and a session can last a full day or half of one. The Center for Teacher Effectiveness has provided classroom management training since 1993, and its trainers have worked with more than 400,000 educators in all 50 states.

Staff trainers are 1099 independent contractors. We don't guarantee hours, and your number of staff days can swing from year to year. A training day usually pays $1,000 or more, and pay arrives every Friday.

You'll set up most staff days by contacting schools, using the outreach approach covered in certification. Your National Director writes the contract and negotiates it once a school commits. Territories aren't part of this, so you can train in the District, in Maryland or Virginia, or anywhere else.

Certification happens online over two weekends: the Weekend Certification, 36 hours across three days. It's eligible for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global, and it comes with an orientation, complete training materials, and continued support.

We want current and former K-12 teachers, as well as coaches, counselors, and principals. Most staff trainers keep their jobs in schools and train on evenings, weekends, personal days, and in summer. Students are welcome if they're working toward certification.
