AMN Healthcare is partnering with a well-respected school district in Spencerport New York to hire a highly motivated and passionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a contract position. The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to provide comprehensive speech and language services that support students’ academic and social development. Responsibilities for this role include conducting assessments and evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students. The SLP will also develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) with goals for students with speech and language needs. Throughout the course of the school year, they will provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings. They will monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. The SLP will also provide training and resources to teachers and staff on effective strategies to integrate speech therapy goals into the classroom environment.
Required Qualifications
Speech/Language Pathologist, School
References: 1 Reference in entire work history
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Active New York State Speech-Language Pathologist License
Eligibility for or possession of New York State school-based credentials as required
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or Clinical Fellow eligibility if accepted by client
Experience providing speech and language evaluations, assessments, and therapy services
Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, special education teams, related service providers, and families
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage documentation, progress reports, and therapy notes in a timely manner
Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday
Preferred Qualifications
Previous school-based experience
Experience supporting K-12 students with a wide range of communication disorders
Familiarity with AAC devices and assistive communication technology
Experience conducting standardized assessments and eligibility evaluations
Knowledge of special education regulations and best practices
Experience participating in CSE/IEP meetings
Prior experience working within BOCES programs
Strong organizational and caseload management skills
Multidisciplinary team collaboration experience
Medicaid billing/documentation experience (if applicable)
