Job Requirements.
  • EducationRequirements: Must be a Social Worker licensed through MDOE; MSW in progress/typical school social work training background required (or equivalent educational preparation).
  • CertificationsRequirements: Michigan Department of Education (MDOE) school social work license must be active/completed.
  • ExperienceRequirements: 1+ year of paid school social worker experience in a full caseload role; experience supporting a school-based caseload (district-wide PK-12 environment preferred).
  • OtherRequirements: Full-time social work role for the 2026-2027 school year (9/8/26 - 6/5/27); district-wide general education and special education position in a PK-12 configuration across 3 buildings; special education caseload approximately 25 students with several students on consult—able to participate in IEP/MDR/MET/CST processes, conduct behavioral assessments, and develop intervention plans; strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams; skills in SEL, MTSS, PBIS, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and CBT-based techniques; strong confidentiality/compliance recordkeeping practices; must be able to work legally in the United States on a W2 basis; willingness to travel/follow district coverage across multiple buildings as needed.

JobResponsibilities:
  • Provide full-time school social work services to district students across PK-12 programs (district-wide general education and special education coverage across 3 buildings).
  • Participate in IEP/MDR/MET/CST team meetings and contribute to evaluation, documentation, and intervention planning.
  • Conduct behavioral assessments and collaborate on behavior and mental health interventions using evidence-informed strategies (including SEL, MTSS, PBIS, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and CBT-based techniques).
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality and professional recordkeeping/compliance documentation for students and services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student academic and emotional needs, including consultation support for additional students as assigned.
