School Social Worker

The ideal candidate will provide social-emotional support, help students overcome barriers to learning, and collaborate with educators and other school professionals to promote student success. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to support high school students with diverse educational and developmental needs. The ideal candidate will provide social-emotional support, help students overcome barriers to learning, and collaborate with educators and other school professionals to promote student success.

This position supports students across two high schools located on the same campus, with an anticipated caseload of approximately 30 40 students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide social-emotional support, counseling, and intervention services to high school students.

• Support students with Cognitive Impairments (CI), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and resource room needs.

• Assess student needs and develop appropriate support strategies.

• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

• Assist students with behavioral, emotional, social, and academic challenges.

• Maintain accurate student records and documentation in accordance with applicable guidelines.

• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

• Participate in meetings and contribute to student support plans as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

• Valid Michigan School Social Worker approval or appropriate state-required credentials.

• Experience working with high school students, preferably in a special education setting.

• Knowledge of autism, cognitive impairments, and student support strategies.

• Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage a caseload and work effectively with students, families, and school teams.

• Work Hours: 7:20 AM 2:25 PM
