POSITION: School Safety Monitor
Job Class Code: 7830
POSITION SUMMARY: Participate in monitoring students entering and leaving school grounds; operate, set up, and maintain weapons detection systems; monitor hallways during class time and transition times; provide protection for students and faculty by patrolling school grounds; ensure classroom doors are locked and shut during instruction; perform routine safety checks throughout the building as directed; and maintain safety compliance as outlined in Kentucky law.

Position Details
Hours: 8 hours per day (plus a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)
Contract Length: 178 days per year
Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date
Employment Status: Full-time (eligible for benefits)
Employment Type: 10-month employee on the classified pay schedule

Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.
Salary Formula: Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate <> Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary. <> Annual salary ÷ Remaining pay periods = Gross biweekly pay
