1. School Nurses (RN) — Multiple Brooklyn Schools, Immediate Start
Location: Brooklyn, NY — openings in Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Park Slope, and Bedford-Stuyvesant Start Date: Immediate Schedule: Monday–Friday, school-day hours (8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.; one site 8:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) Pay: $60/hour Setting: Public, special education (District 75), and non-public elementary/intermediate schools
About the Role Regional Care Network (RCN) is hiring School Nurses for five Brooklyn school sites for the 2026–27 school year. Whether you want a general-education health office, a special education (D75) site, or a small non-public school, we have a placement that fits — and we'll match you to the site closest to home. All roles are daytime, school-calendar hours with no nights, weekends, or holidays.
Care Needs Across Sites (varies by placement)
- Diabetes management, including insulin pump operation and blood glucose monitoring
- Allergy and anaphylaxis readiness (EpiPens)
- Asthma care and inhaler administration
- Scheduled and PRN medication administration
- General health office coverage — first aid, assessment, and student health records
What You'll Do
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and NYC DOE Office of School Health protocols
- Maintain and follow Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans
- Keep accurate MARs, student health files, and immunization compliance
- Assess and respond to student illness, injury, and acute symptoms during the school day
- Communicate with families, teachers, paraprofessionals, and school administration about student health needs
- Follow emergency procedures, including epinephrine administration and EMS activation when appropriate
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered New York State RN license
- Current BLS/CPR (AHA or Red Cross)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; school, pediatric, or special-needs experience strongly preferred
- Insulin pump/CGM experience preferred for diabetes-care sites
- Ability to pass NYC DOE fingerprinting/background clearance and health screening
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently as the sole nurse on site
