POLYTECH School District is seeking experienced candidates with strong interpersonal skills to join our high school team. As a School Psychologist, you will carry out a variety of activities outlined below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
o Assess needs of students through appropriate assessment and diagnostic practices and collaborate with school staff and administrators to develop appropriate supports, services, and/or interventions.
o Coordinate the Child-Find process and recommend testing and/or services.
o Assist with coordinating related services provision.
o Serve as consultant for counselors to determine student eligibility for initial 504 plans.
o Consult with school staff concerning special education and 504 plan students' needs.
o Participate in PST meetings.
o Collaborate with administration to develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
o Collaborate with school staff to develop MTSS Tier 1 intervention strategies.
o Collaborate with school staff for MTSS Tier 2 and Tier 3 identification, placement and programming.
o Coordinate and administer diagnostic testing and recommend placement for all students with disabilities and students with behavioral interventions. Upon administrator request coordinate and administer diagnostic testing and recommend placement for all referred (unidentified) students.
o Issue Permission To Evaluate forms.
o Conduct and write Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) reports.
o Conduct student observations and write reports.
o Conduct evaluations and write Evaluation Summary Reports (ESRs).
o Write Prior Written Notice (PWN) reports as required.
o Maintain case records on all students referred for special education services.
o Review all incoming 9th grade students' ESRs and recommend adoption or revision; coordinate adoption and revision processes.
o Evaluate the relationship between behavior and a disability, complete Manifestation Determination Reports, and participate in manifestation meetings.
o Support and monitor development and provision of accommodations for eligible students.
o Assist with needs-based funding unit count.
o Manage SSD Online Disability Accommodation Management System data entry and coordinate statewide assessment accommodation services for students with disabilities.
o Identify program needs and collaborate with school staff to develop appropriate programs for students receiving Diploma of Alternate Achievement Standards.
o Participate in IEP meetings.
o Participate in 504 plan meetings as requested.
o Provide group and/or individual facilitative therapy for students with behavioral needs.
o Support lead teacher to provide special education training, professional learning and staff meetings.
o Collaborate with school staff to support appropriate mental health strategies and practices.
o Collaborate with special education lead teacher and administrator to develop, update, and carry out special education policies.
o Collaborate with school staff to develop and carry out school-wide intervention strategies.
o Attend state special education meetings as needed.
o Participate in interagency meetings.
o Collaborate with community health and social welfare agencies to ensure appropriate student supports.
o Prepare and submit required reports for outside agencies including, but not limited to, DOE, DYRS, DVR, and DDDS.
Essential Qualifications:
Education: NASP or APA School Psychology Degree, or complete a state-approved school psychology program.
Licensure and Certification: Must meet Delaware requirements for licensure and certification(s) in accordance with Delaware Professional Standards Board regulations (14 DE Admin. Code 1500). https://regulations.delaware.gov/AdminCode/title14/1500/1583.shtml#TopOfPage
