Description

  • This position focuses on supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success through assessment, consultation, intervention, counseling, and collaboration.
  • The School Psychologist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to evaluate student needs, support educational planning, develop appropriate interventions, and ensure compliance with special education requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to determine eligibility for special education and related services.
  • Administer and interpret psychological and educational assessments and prepare detailed evaluation reports.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, eligibility determinations, IEP meetings, and Section 504 meetings.
  • Conduct student observations, interviews, behavioral assessments, and data reviews.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to develop effective student interventions.
  • Assist with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Provide consultation regarding instructional strategies, behavioral supports, and social-emotional interventions.
  • Provide individual or group counseling services when appropriate.
  • Support crisis intervention, threat assessment, and student safety planning as needed.
  • Participate in MTSS and RTI processes and use data-based decision-making to monitor student progress.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.
  • Manage evaluation, meeting, and special education compliance timelines.

Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement required.
  • Ed.S., Master's degree with advanced certification, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Must meet applicable Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requirements.
  • Knowledge of psychoeducational assessments, IEPs, IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, MTSS, and RTI.
  • Strong assessment, report-writing, consultation, and case-management skills.
  • Previous experience working with K–12 students preferred.
  • Experience supporting students with behavioral, emotional, and learning needs preferred.
