    Primary Purpose:

    Provide psychological services for the district, including psychological evaluation and report writing, behavior management and counseling. Assess the psychological and psychoeducational needs of learners referred to special education. Consult with parents, educators and administrators and provide training as requested.

    Education/Certification:

    • Master's degree in psychology, education or related field from an accredited college or university rrn
    • Valid Texas license as a licensed specialist in school psychology (LSSP) rrn

    • Knowledge of procedures for assessing emotional and behavioral functioning for educational purposes

    • Select and administer formal and informal psychological/behavioral evaluations to determine learner eligibility for special education services according to federal and state regulations

    • Compile data necessary to complete a Functional Behavioral Assessment and develop a Behavior Intervention Plan

    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

    Patience and emotional control under stress. Organization and focus in order to frequently monitor timeline deadlines. Possible involvement with special programs or with Manifest Determination meetings and need to control of learner behavior through physical restraint. Biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases. Regular district-wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned. May work prolonged or irregular hours.
