ANTICIPATED VACANCY

2026-2027 School Year

SCHOOL NURSE

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

• NY State Certification as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)

• CPR/AED: Current certification required.

• Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred.

• Ability to work effectively with students, parents/guardians, staff, administrators, and healthcare providers.

• Commitment to providing compassionate, student-centered health services.

• Provide first aid and emergency care.

• Medication administration in accordance with physician orders.

• Individualized Healthcare Plans/Emergency Action Plans.

• Conduct and assist with required student health screenings.

• Monitor Immunization and other health documentation.

• Monitor chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, allergies, seizures, etc.

• Maintain appropriate nursing supplies and equipment.

• Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date student health records.

Compensation will be in accordance with the Valley Stream Teachers' Association, Nurse's Unit.
