Full-time School Nurse

7.5 Hours Daily

Salary range $46.72/hour to $57.84/hour

Preference given to candidates able to work in the Extended School Year (ESY) program.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited school for registered nurses,
  • Successful experience as a school nurse preferred but not required.
  • Experience with nursing procedures (seizure protocol, tracheotomy, G-tube feeding, catheterization, diabetic care, etc.) highly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of school health procedures including state and federal mandates.
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to work with school-aged children.

Certification Requirements:

  • Current and valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license
  • Current and valid CPR certification

Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to sit/stand/pivot, twist and change position frequently. Requires the ability to occasionally lift, push, pull and carry 20 to 50 lbs. Requires the ability to utilize telephone, laptop computer and clinical equipment.
