Comprehensive Staffing Solutions is seeking Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses for the upcoming school year. The position is for School Based Pre-K program. Pediatric experience is required. Pediatric Ventilator experience required.
School Nurse duties and responsibilities- Conducting student hearing and vision screenings
- Educating students on hygiene and safety practices
- Dispensing prescription medications to students per physician instructions
- Verifying vaccination records
- Taking students’ temperatures when fever is suspected
- Administering first aid and CPR
- Treating minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes and bruises
- Contacting parents when students are ill or injured
School Nurse skills and qualifications- Standard clinical skills to dispense medications and treat minor ailments and injuries
- Basic math skills to ensure proper dosage amounts when dispensing medications
- Good communication skills to work with students and parents
- Ability to demonstrate a calm, caring demeanor when working with children
- Good presentation skills for training school staff
- Ability to remain focused in the event of a student medical emergencyPediatric experience requiredPediatric ventilator experience required
