QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Arizona State Nursing License
At least two (2) years of experience as RN or Public Health Nurse or public school nurse, preferred.
Board Alternative: Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Governing Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/First Aid Certification
Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Ability to obtain National Provider Identifier (NPI) Number and AHCCCS ID in order to participate in the Medicaid School Based Claiming Program
Knowledge, skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide assessment, screening, planning, intervention, evaluation, and/or referrals concerning the health and medical care needs of students to minimize absences due to illness, maximize educational opportunities, and create a healthy school climate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to reach with hands and arms, sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend as necessary for student learning and safety. The employee may lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 20 to 75 pounds, frequently. The employee may lift and assist students as necessary and have manual dexterity to operate equipment necessary to fulfill the duties of this position. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens, and use the telephone.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoor school environment. This position regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Exposure to body secretions, blood borne pathogens, medicine and medicinal supplies, illnesses and diseases. Will have substantial contact with parents, students, staff, and the public.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The School Nurse reports to the School Principal/Site administrator. The School Nurse will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN: NURSES INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN
SUPPLEMENTAL: Classroom Site Fund - $10,000 annual or prorated based on start date!
WORK YEAR: 199 Days
