QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be an active licensed LPN and eligible to practice in the State of Maryland
- Current CPR certification
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of (1) year nursing experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with maintaining the Health Suite.
- Assess student's complaints of illness or injury and determine appropriate action to be taken.
- Administer first aid and emergency care.
- Handle and administer prescribed medication to students.
- Check for general health problems and conduct student health appraisals to identify and assess physical, behavioral, and social needs.
- Provide hearing and vision screening.
- Maintain up to date student health records.
- Complete appropriate forms to report student accidents to the central office.
- Report suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
- Serve as a liaison between the school and other community organizations providing health and related services to students.
