Title: School Improvement / EL Coordinator Supervisor: Federal Programs Director Start Date: TBD Salary: CCBOE Salary Schedule FLSA Status: Exempt Job Goals:
To oversee planning, development, operations, and evaluations of continuous improvement plans for district and schools. To collaborate regularly with district and school administrators to implement instructional practices that support the academic success of students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Alabama certification in administration/supervision. Administrative experience in public education preferred. Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups, including, but not limited to, students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members. Ability to use technology for communication, presentations, research, data analysis, budgeting, record keeping, reporting, scheduling, and other job responsibilities as required. Possess a broad general knowledge of reading and at-risk interventions. Possess technological and assessment training. Possess problem solving, imagination, patience, reasoning, creativity, judgment, and analytical abilities. Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board and administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities. Demonstrates instructional leadership and professionalism. Communicates with all stakeholders to enhance the instructional services provided by Federal Programs. Plans with the district leadership team to write, implement, and evaluate the district's continuous improvement plan. Assists school leadership teams with analyzing data to identify strategies for school improvement. Plans with school leadership teams to write, implement, and evaluate continuous improvement plans. Actively participates as a member of the district leadership team for Strategic Plan, Accreditation and Compliance Monitoring. Maintains data in spreadsheets and databases for school improvement. Provides professional development including instructional strategies and assessment data for teachers/administrators/parents. Provides constructive feedback to teachers on effective teaching strategies to promote school improvement. Collaborates with the staff and administration to evaluate all programs to determine their effectiveness. Develops, implements, and provides training on policies, procedures, and guidance in assigned programs. Assists in the development of the district's consolidated grant application and improvement plan as well as school improvement plans. Develops the EL Program improvement plan in collaboration with district staff using student and instructional data. Assists in the EL evaluation assessment for the State at the end of the year. Coach/Support instructional staff of EL students. Assists in the development and implementation of appropriate EL curriculum. Collaborates with school and district administrators on program development, planning, assessment, and support related to meeting the academic needs of English learners. Coordinates and ensures accurate assessments of EL students. Adequately completes, in a timely manner, all paperwork for the District and the State. Engages in personal professional growth, adheres to professional standards, and demonstrates professional ethics, sound judgment and leadership. Participates in regular local and regional professional development opportunities, trainings, and meetings to deepen expertise and stay current on effective practices. Have scientific research-based programming to assist student progress. Interprets data from assessments to determine alterations to individual learning plans. Supports the overall implementation and guidance of programs and complies with all Federal regulations. Maintains confidentiality regarding student/school/workplace matters in accordance with state and federal law. Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility. Responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and positive manner. Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner. Properly cares for equipment and material resources of the school system. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies and state, federal and local laws. Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures; prepares for substitutes according to Board policies and school procedures. Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).
