Floyd County Head Start is looking to expand our awesome custodial staff to keep our school clean and safe for children, staff, and parents!
SCHEDULE:
- Monday-Thursday 10AM-7PM
- 49 weeks (3 weeks off per year unpaid, one in October, one in December, and one in July)
- 9 hours per day, 36 hours per week worked, paid for 40
- Some Fridays (4 hours only) required throughout the school year for training/all staff meetings
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Work with other custodial stuff to provide a safe and clean environment for children, staff and parents.
- Organize and maintain all storage and work areas in a safe and orderly fashion and assist in recording custodial inventory supply amounts.
- Perform cleaning duties including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing surfaces.
- Perform basic maintenance/repair duties as needed including but not limited to changing light bulbs, assembling furniture, fixing broken classroom furniture.
- Organize and prioritize work to be completed using a provided cleaning schedule.
- Ensuring all cleaning supplies and hazardous materials are locked and out of childrens reach.
- Maintain required yearly professional development hours as required by childcare licensing.
- Other related duties as assigned by Safety Compliance Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES):
- Custodial training or experience (preferred)
- Minimum of High school diploma or GED (required)
- Physically able to operate all equipment necessary and perform all tasks as outlined
- Experience working with/around small children (preferred)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to be flexible and work as a member of a cooperative team
