    Floyd County Head Start is looking to expand our awesome custodial staff to keep our school clean and safe for children, staff, and parents!

    SCHEDULE:

    • Monday-Thursday 10AM-7PM
    • 49 weeks (3 weeks off per year unpaid, one in October, one in December, and one in July)
    • 9 hours per day, 36 hours per week worked, paid for 40
    • Some Fridays (4 hours only) required throughout the school year for training/all staff meetings

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Work with other custodial stuff to provide a safe and clean environment for children, staff and parents.
    • Organize and maintain all storage and work areas in a safe and orderly fashion and assist in recording custodial inventory supply amounts.
    • Perform cleaning duties including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing surfaces.
    • Perform basic maintenance/repair duties as needed including but not limited to changing light bulbs, assembling furniture, fixing broken classroom furniture.
    • Organize and prioritize work to be completed using a provided cleaning schedule.
    • Ensuring all cleaning supplies and hazardous materials are locked and out of childrens reach.
    • Maintain required yearly professional development hours as required by childcare licensing.
    • Other related duties as assigned by Safety Compliance Manager.

    • Carry out responsibilities to successful completion.

    QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES):

    • Custodial training or experience (preferred)
    • Minimum of High school diploma or GED (required)
    • Physically able to operate all equipment necessary and perform all tasks as outlined
    • Experience working with/around small children (preferred)
    • Good communication skills
    • Ability to be flexible and work as a member of a cooperative team
