The Weston School District is a small, rural PreK-12 public district located in Cazenovia, Wisconsin. Serving approximately 230 students across Sauk and Richland counties, it features one elementary, one middle, and one high school. The school counselor Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in creating academic goals and developing stategies to achieve those goals.
  • Provide guidance on course selection, graduation requirments, and post-secondary options.
  • Support Students with time managment, study skills, and problem solving techniques.
  • Offer individual and group counseling for personal and social challenges.
  • Address issues such as bullying, peer relationships, mental health and family dynamics.
  • Implement programs tht promote self-awareness, resiliance, and conflict resolution.
  • Help students explore career interests and pathways.
  • Provide resources for college applicatios, financial aid, scholarships and vocational training.
  • Participate as a member of the Academic and Career planning team.
  • Act as a liason between students, teachers, families, and administrators.
  • Advocate for equitable access to resources and opportunities for all students.
  • Collaborate with school staff to implement intervention plans for at-risk students.
  • Develop and evaluate the school counseling program to align with state and district goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and interventions.
  • Stay current with counseling techniques, policies and lega/ethical standards

School Counselors typically work in elementary, middle or high school settings. They interact with students individually, in groups, and during classroom sessions.

Some evening or weekend events may be required. (parent teacher conferences).

Postion is 185 days school year position with a few summer days required.
