Requirements:
New Jersey Certified School Counselor must demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge, skills and a background in school counseling.
- Experience with the postsecondary planning process, including the college application process.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the online program, Naviance.
- Prior knowledge of PowerSchool a plus.
- Ability to effectively articulate and advocate for children's needs with teachers, administration, and parents.
- Superior communication skills.
- Awareness of the New Jersey Learning Standards and state assessment protocol.
