Birch Agency is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified School Counselor to provide counseling and support services within a school district in Lambertville, MI. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams while supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success of students.
Provide individual and small-group counseling services to support students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs.
Assist students with goal setting, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy skills.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to identify and address student concerns.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, student support meetings, and intervention planning.
Support the implementation of school-wide social-emotional learning initiatives and positive behavior supports.
Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
Monitor student progress and recommend evidence-based interventions and supports.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
Serve as a resource for students and families regarding academic planning, attendance concerns, and community resources.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school climate.
Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
Valid Michigan School Counselor certification or eligibility for certification.
Experience providing counseling services in a school setting preferred.
Knowledge of student support services, special education processes, and intervention strategies.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school personnel.
Experience working with elementary, middle school, or high school students.
Familiarity with social-emotional learning programs and behavioral interventions.
Experience supporting students with diverse academic, behavioral, and mental health needs.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve student outcomes.
