Organization Information The Muhlenberg County School System serves over 4300 students from Preschool through Grade 12. There are five elementary schools, one middle schools, one high school, an alternative school that serves middle and high school students, and a technology center. We also partner with the Muhlenberg County Career Center in providing education and career training for our students. We are a district committed to excellence in teaching and learning. Our district provides a clean, orderly and safe environment, efficient transportation of students, nutritious meals and financial assistance to all schools. Vacancy ID 20262027 - 01838 Position Category School Counselor Title School Counselor Description At the core, our school counselor will provide direct and indirect student services in support of students' academic, career and social/emotional development. There will be a maintained focus on students' developmental levels and short and long-term goals and provide services accordingly. The GES school counselor will also serve as a leader who advocates on behalf of their students within our school and share in the creation of a positive learning environment. To ensure their effectiveness, the GES school counselor will continuously engage in a cycle of improvement in which they adjust their professional learning and practices according to an informed analysis of available data. This person must possess a wide body of knowledge and specific personal and professional competencies.
