For the 2026-2027 school year, Byram Intermediate School is seeking a highly qualified School Business Administrator-School Board Secretary.
The ideal candidate will foster trust, transparency, innovation, and high-accountability systems that advance student opportunity and ensure long-term district stability to efficiently manage and oversee all financial, operational, and administrative functions of the district, ensuring that resources are used effectively to support student learning and educational programs. This role provides strategic leadership in budgeting, facilities management, and business operations, while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and board policies.
Establishing district-wide systems that strengthen fiscal stability and operational cohesion
Responsibilities:
To efficiently manage and oversee all financial, operational, and administrative functions of the district, ensuring that resources are used effectively to support student learning and educational programs
This role provides strategic leadership in budgeting, facilities management, and business operations, while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and board policies
Oversee in the development and administration of the annual school budget and oversee all financial operations
Serve as Board Secretary, including preparing agendas, attending meetings, and maintaining official records and minutes
Oversee purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Supervise and manage facilities, maintenance, custodial, transportation, and food service operations
Administer risk management and insurance programs for the district
Coordinate long-range facilities planning, construction projects, and capital improvements
Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements, audits, and state/federal regulations
Works with the Superintendent to facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to maximize efficiency and coherence of district
Functions as an integral member of the district leadership team that works collaboratively to ensure that financial, facilities, and operational decisions support student learning, staff effectiveness, and program innovation.
Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 based on education level and experience
Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for medical, prescription, dental benefits and vision, or insurance buy out, if waived.

Required:
NJ certification - School Business Administrator Certificate; Standard, CEAS or CE
Knowledge of school finance, budgeting, and GAAP-compliant accounting practices
Experience with district operations, including facilities, transportation, and food services preferred
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Criminal History background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency
