    School-Based Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

    Location: West Grove, PA through the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU)

    Schedule: Full-time, 10-month position. M-F school day hours. Hourly position; you are only paid for the hours that you work

    Caseload: K-12, Autistic Support, Multiple Disabilities, and Life Skills classrooms

    Additional Details: PCAs will provide services during the school calendar year and will follow the school calendar for days off, holidays, etc. Summers are off; ESY may be available but is not guaranteed.

    What you’ll do as a PCA.

    Our PCAs are vital members of the school team. They work to deliver high-quality services to a variety of students grades K-12. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Provide individualized support to a student based on their educational and behavioral needs.
    • Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and engagement in learning.
    • Support with behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher or behavioral team.
    • Help with daily living tasks such as mobility, toileting, feeding, and communication as needed.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
    • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support the student’s IEP goals.
    • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Must have a high school diploma or higher is required
    • A minimum of 6 months recent experience working with children in a school or daycare setting is required
    • Must be comfortable using a computer
    • Must be able to complete clinical documentation to school district standards
    • Current clearances (within 6 months)
