    Job Description

    No Longer Bound is seeking a Program Facilitator to join our nonprofit team to facilitate prevention programming. The Program Facilitator will plan and lead educational programs in a school-based or community setting. We are seeking a candidate with working knowledge or willingness to learn substance use prevention and prevention science to reduce the impact of substance use in the Bucks County community.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate, plan, and facilitate prevention education and program activities.

    • Develop, edit, and share weekly content, including social media posts and videos, that encourage community members to take action.

    • Document all program activities as required and submit program reports records according to the agency’s established deadlines. 

    • Collaborate with schools, social, faith-based, youth and community organizations to disseminate information and resources on alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. 

    • Synthesize large amounts of information into analytical reports.

    • Consistently communicate with the supervisor, program staff, parents/ guardians, and participants.

    • Recruit and engage participants to participate in various programs

    • Connect participants and their families with resources and support.

    • Attend training, seminars, workshops, classes, and continuing education as required. 

    • Perform other duties assigned to meet program and agency objectives.

     

    Minimum Requirement

    One year of experience as a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Specialist or a bachelor’s degree in health education, Social or Behavioral Sciences, education, or related fields, and two years of progressively responsible experience in program facilitation; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

     

    • Current PA Criminal, Child Abuse and FBI Clearance required.

    • Valid driver’s license required.

    • Reliable transportation.

     

    Qualifications

     

    Ability to: 

    • Communicate effectively both writing and verbally

    • Organize and prioritize projects

    • Facilitate training, webinars and community meetings

    • Stay abreast of drug trends and prevention education

    • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with community partners and local coalitions

    • Ability to notice minor details and meet deadlines

    • The ability and willingness to adjust hours in accordance with job responsibilities

    • Complete assignments without supervision and document services performed

    • Self-Motivation/ability to work independently

    • Serve as a positive role model in the community

    • Use sound judgment in decision making

    Physical Demands:

     

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear. The person in this position will occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, consistently operate a computer, calculator, copy machine, and printer. The facilitator may be required to lift and move items weighing from 10 to 25 lbs.
