A well known and nationally recognized General Contractor is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Scheduler to support large-scale construction projects valued at over $100 million. The Senior Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, updating, and analyzing project schedules throughout all phases of construction. This role provides technical expertise in scheduling, forecasting, reporting, and schedule impact analysis while supporting project teams in achieving successful project outcomes.
The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with extensive experience in construction scheduling, strong analytical capabilities, and expert knowledge of Primavera P6 and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced-level scheduling support for assigned projects.
- Manage project schedules across multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain detailed project schedules, typically containing more than 5,000 activities.
- Support updates to master schedules and enterprise reporting initiatives.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to develop and maintain baseline schedules, resource plans, and cash flow forecasts.
- Gather schedule data, perform updates, and analyze project progress.
- Prepare schedule reports and executive-level schedule narratives.
- Conduct Time Impact Analyses (TIA) to support contract modifications, claims, and change management activities.
- Ensure compliance with company scheduling standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of project schedules.
- Train Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams on scheduling processes and techniques.
- Develop and document lessons learned from completed projects.
- Deliver formal CPM scheduling training programs to internal stakeholders.
- Support Lean Pull Planning initiatives and scheduling integration efforts.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of scheduling experience on large-scale construction projects valued at $75 million or greater.
- Experience preparing and managing schedules for commercial, institutional, or high-rise building projects preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, forecasting, and controlling project schedules and schedule-related costs.
Technical Skills
- Expert-level knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles and techniques.
- Extensive experience with Primavera P6 Enterprise Scheduling Software.
- Experience with resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to import and export schedule data between scheduling platforms and reporting tools.
- Strong capabilities in schedule analysis, forecasting, delay analysis, and schedule recovery planning.
