Position OverviewThe Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for managing and optimizing the daily schedule to ensure providers, clinical teams, and patients are scheduled efficiently. This role serves as a central communication hub between patients, providers, and team members, helping maintain productive schedules, minimize downtime, and deliver an excellent patient experience.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Scheduling & Patient Coordination- Schedule new patient, treatment, hygiene, and specialty appointments according to office guidelines.
- Maintain productive provider schedules and maximize chair utilization.
- Confirm appointments and communicate with patients regarding schedule changes.
- Manage cancellations, no-shows, and same-day openings by actively working unscheduled treatment lists and call lists.
- Coordinate specialty appointments and ensure proper scheduling flow between departments.
- Assist patients with appointment requests and answer scheduling-related questions.
- Monitor future schedules and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and patient access.
Compensation is based on experience and skill level:$11–$17/hour – Entry-level or developing candidates
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish)
- Strong scheduling and patient communication skills
- Dental and/or orthodontic knowledge
- Advanced Dentrix proficiency
- Proven ability to manage complex schedules and maintain productivity goals
