Job Specifications

Join a forward-thinking team where technology and public service come together. This position supports the Citys advanced SCADA systems that help monitor and control critical utility operations, providing an exciting opportunity to work with automation, networking, and communications equipment in a dynamic environment. Your work will play an important role in maintaining reliable services for residents and businesses.

What Youll Do:

  • Help ensure the reliable operation of critical utility systems that support essential services for our community.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety by following safe work practices, identifying potential concerns, and supporting workplace safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with City employees, contractors, and external partners to enhance system performance and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Monitor, maintain, and improve operational systems to support dependable service and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing upgrades and enhancements that improve efficiency, reliability, and long-term system performance.
  • Analyze operational issues, recommend solutions, and contribute to projects that support the Citys evolving infrastructure and technology needs.

Minimum Training & Experience

  • Associates degree in electronics or electrical engineering technology, computer technology, networks or information systems, fiber optics or a related field; OR
  • Two (2) year technical or trade school certificate of completion in electronics or electrical engineering technology, computer technology, networks or information systems, fiber optics or a related field; AND
  • Four (4) years of technical experience in the installation, programming, configuration, maintenance and/or support of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) or electronic communications protocols;

OR

  • High School diploma or GED; AND
  • Six (6) years of technical experience in the installation, programming, configuration, maintenance and/or support of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) or electronic communications protocols

Necessary Special Requirements

Must possess a valid Class E State drivers license (or equivalent) at the time of appointment.

Salary Range

$25.1538 to $68.2567/hourly. Hiring rate generally will not exceed $53.6639/hour.
