About the Opportunity

A leading enterprise organization is seeking an experienced SCADA Systems Engineer to support and modernize mission-critical Operational Technology (OT) and industrial control environments.

This position sits at the intersection of enterprise IT and industrial automation, supporting highly available operational systems that power essential business operations. The successful candidate will work across Windows infrastructure, virtualization, networking, industrial communications, and automation technologies to improve system reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, supporting real-time production environments, and driving modernization initiatives within highly available infrastructure.

What You'll Tackle:
  • Administer and enhance enterprise SCADA and industrial control environments.
  • Configure and maintain telemetry mappings, operational databases, and real-time monitoring systems.
  • Support industrial communication protocols and data exchange between operational platforms.
  • Develop automation, telemetry calculations, and system enhancements using programming and scripting languages.
  • Provision, administer, and maintain Windows Server infrastructure and virtualized environments.
  • Manage Active Directory and enterprise identity services.
  • Design and support secure integrations between enterprise IT systems and operational technology environments.
  • Implement backup, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and high-availability solutions.
  • Improve operational efficiency through automation, monitoring, and infrastructure optimization.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Participate in on-call support for critical production environments.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable technology solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven or more years of Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
  • Strong experience administering Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with VMware or enterprise virtualization platforms.
  • Experience supporting Azure Hybrid Cloud environments.
  • Active Directory administration experience.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise networking concepts.
  • Experience working with SQL databases.
  • Experience developing or supporting API integrations.
  • Experience supporting SCADA, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), or Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices within enterprise or operational technology environments.
  • Experience supporting highly available production or mission-critical systems.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with enterprise SCADA platforms.
  • Knowledge of NERC CIP or other industrial cybersecurity standards.
  • Experience within utilities, energy, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure industries.
  • Programming experience using C or C++.
  • PowerShell scripting.
  • Python development or automation.
  • Experience with industrial historian platforms.
  • PLC or RTU experience.
  • Industrial networking experience.
  • Exposure to automation initiatives, AI, or operational analytics.
