SCADA Analyst

We're seeking a driven SCADA Analyst IV to collaborate with business partners and technical teams to identify requirements and develop scalable SCADA solutions and logical/functional designs.

Job Description:

The role will provide technical leadership in SCADA and OT environments, support complex problem-solving, and drive continuous improvement, standardization, and automation. The SCADA Analyst IV will also design and support OT data pipelines integrating SCADA, ACM, Kepware, MQTT/Sparkplug B, HiveMQ, edge technologies, and enterprise platforms such as Databricks to deliver reliable operational data for analytics and business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Solve complex SCADA problems and develop innovative solutions using a broad technical perspective.
• Provide technical leadership within the broader team and mentor other team members.
• Ensure assigned projects are completed on schedule.
• Analyze business requirements and develop short- and long-term SCADA solutions.
• Coordinate with internal users and external customers to understand SCADA requirements.
• Recommend SCADA solutions aligned with business requirements within an enterprise environment.
• Design and support OT data pipelines integrating SCADA, ACM, Kepware, MQTT/Sparkplug B, HiveMQ, and edge technologies.
• Deliver reliable operational data to enterprise platforms such as Databricks.
• Troubleshoot, monitor, and performance-tune polling engines, communication channels, edge devices, and OT data flows.
• Optimize OT data quality and availability.
• Develop and maintain OT data solutions that transform, validate, and contextualize operational data.
• Support operational data for reporting, analytics, machine learning, and business decision-making.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, OT, and IT teams to identify requirements and implement data solutions.
• Drive standardization and automation initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a SCADA or team leadership role.
• Experience with:
  • ClearSCADA
  • AutoSol
  • Kepware
  • OPC protocol
• Strong knowledge of SCADA and industrial communication protocols, including:
  • OPC
  • Modbus
  • DNP3
  • MQTT
• Experience with OT systems and industrial data environments.
• Extensive SQL experience and capabilities.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms and analytics tools, including Databricks, SQL, Python, Power BI, and cloud-based data architectures.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex OT data issues, including data quality problems, communication failures, and system integration challenges.
• Knowledge of network operations and telecommunications.
• Demonstrable understanding of various Flow Computer Protocols.
• Experience in the energy industry.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and PC skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Windows programming experience using Python, VBScript, or Ladder Logic.
• Experience in database development and management.
