SUMMARY:
The SBA Loan Closer is responsible for managing the closing process on SBA 7(a) loan transactions, coordinating with borrowers, SBA Relationship Managers, attorneys, title companies, and the SBA Closing Manager to ensure every loan closes accurately and on schedule.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manage SBA 7(a) loan closings from conditional approval through funding, including ordering title, coordinating appraisals, and preparing closing checklists
- Review SBA authorization documents and ensure all conditions are satisfied prior to closing
- Prepare and review closing packages in compliance with SBA SOP requirements and internal closing policy
- Coordinate directly with borrowers, attorneys, title companies, and RMs to resolve open items and schedule closings
- Ensure timely funding and accurate disbursement of loan proceeds
- Verify that all closing documentation meets SBA and lender requirements before funding
- Maintain complete and organized closing files throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Support post-closing processes including SBA note registration, file delivery to servicing, and guarantee purchase documentation
- Stay current on SBA SOP closing requirements and internal policy updates
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior SBA 7(a) loan closing experience
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Intermediate knowledge of SBA SOP closing requirements, authorization conditions, and funding procedures
- Intermediate collaboration skills

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Standing, walking, bending and stooping required
- Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
- Must be able to occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds
- May be asked to work supplemental hours periodically
- Limited travel required occasionally during and after business hours
