    Job Title: Saw Operator

    Location: Ashland, OH


    Job Summary:

    The Saw Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of sawing equipment to cut materials to precise specifications. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.


    Responsibilities:

    • Equipment Operation:Operate various types of saws (e.g., circular saws, band saws, etc.) according to established procedures.
    • Set up and adjust saw machines, including blade selection, speed, and cutting angles.
    • Monitor machine operation to ensure proper functioning and identify potential issues.
    • Material Handling: Load and unload materials onto the saw, ensuring proper positioning and securing.
    • Measure and mark materials for accurate cutting.
    • Handle and move materials safely, using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment.
    • Quality Control: Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine specifications.
    • Measure and inspect finished workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
    • Identify and report any defects or deviations from quality standards.
    • Maintenance and Safety: Perform routine maintenance on sawing equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and blade changes.
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Clear machine jams, and preform basic trouble shooting.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production, including materials used and quantities produced.


    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Proven experience operating saws in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Strong measurement and mathematical skills.
    • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
    • Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
    • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
    • forklift experience is a plus.


    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
    • Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment.


    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with specific types of saws (e.g., CNC saws).
    • Forklift certification.
    • Experience with various types of metal, or wood, depending on the companies product.
