Position Title SAT Math Preparation Adjunct Faculty FLSA Non-Exempt FT/PT Part Time Hours Per Week Approximately 3 instructional hours per week during scheduled course dates Work Schedule Saturdays, October 24 through November 21, 2026, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. The candidate must be available to teach all five scheduled sessions. The Adjunct Faculty for SAT Math Preparation provides engaging, high-quality instruction to high school students preparing for the math section of the SAT. The instructor helps students strengthen the mathematics skills assessed on the SAT while developing effective test-taking strategies, problem-solving approaches, time management skills, calculator strategies, and confidence in a test-taking environment.
Instruction includes SAT-aligned mathematics content and multi-step problems with applications in science, social science, career scenarios, and other real-life contexts. Students entering the course are expected to have completed Algebra II.
This position requires an instructor who can do more than teach mathematics content. The successful candidate must be able to help students understand how to strategically approach SAT Math questions, recognize different question types, select efficient problem-solving methods, and effectively manage their time during the exam. The instructor must also be proficient in Desmos and able to teach students how to effectively use the Desmos graphing calculator as a problem-solving and test-taking tool.
The course incorporates SAT-style practice questions, exercises, and simulated testing experiences to help students become familiar with the content, format, technology, and expectations of the SAT.
