JOB TITLE: Student Assistant Team (SAT) Coordinator

LOCATION: Grafton High School

FUNDING SCHEDULE: $600

EFFECTIVE DATE: 2026-2027 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Teaching certificate
  • Experience working with parents
  • Experience working with Taylor County Middle School faculty and staff
  • Basic computer skills; Microsoft word, Excel, Graphics Program
  • Flexible hours

TO WHOM RESPONSIBLE: Principal and Director of Curriculum

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Student Assistant Team (SAT) duties at assigned location (times determined by the building principal)
  • Coordinate with school administrators to ensure that the school's S.A.T. is trained in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), alternative education placements, disciplinary procedures and other school processes as appropriate for ensuring student progress and maintenance of a safe school environment; (Policy 2419)
  • Coordinate with other school teams and professionals to support the problem-solving process that includes designing and monitoring implementation of interventions and/or reviewing interventions designed by other school teams; (Policy 2419)
  • Coordinate Student Assistance Team paperwork, including vision, hearing, speech and language screenings
  • Attend training on procedures for referring students for multidisciplinary evaluation. (Policy 2419)
  • Receive and process referrals to special education for multidisciplinary referral in accordance with Policy 2419. (Policy 2419)
  • Collect and maintain data on the activities of the S.A.T., including dates of meetings and the results of its recommendations; (Policy 2419)
  • Monitor the "Step List" and coordinate referrals with other teams, including 504 Teams and IEP Teams
  • Communicate with parents and allow parents to review recommendations made by team regarding the child's program and to provide feedback to the team about those recommendations; (Policy 2419)
