SAP S/4HANA RTR Architect - Finance

Our client, a IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for a SAP S/4HANA RTR Architect - Finance for their Malvern, PA/Remote location.

Responsibilities:

• This individual will serve as the design authority for RTR processes, partnering directly with Finance business stakeholders to define future-state solutions, drive architectural decisions, and ensure alignment with SAP best practices.
• The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading full-cycle SAP Finance implementations, strong expertise across RTR functional areas, and the ability to independently facilitate workshops, translate business requirements into scalable solutions, and guide implementation through deployment and post-go-live optimization.
• This is a business-facing architect role requiring strong communication, leadership, and solution ownership capabilities.
• Architect the end-to-end Record-to-Report (RTR) solution within SAP S/4HANA, defining the target operating model, business processes, and functional architecture.
• Act as the primary design authority for RTR processes, making solution decisions and ensuring consistency across integrated finance functions.
• Engage directly with Finance and business process owners to facilitate workshops, gather requirements, challenge existing processes, and drive consensus on future-state solutions.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional designs, fit-gap assessments, solution blueprints, and business process design documentation.
• Design and configure SAP S/4HANA Finance capabilities, including:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Fixed Assets (AA)
• Bank Accounting
• Automatic Payment Program (APP)
• Lockbox Processing
• Electronic Bank Statements (EBS)
• Ensure solution integrity across integration points involving Controlling (CO), Asset Accounting, Consolidation, Tax, Banking, and other enterprise systems.
• Define and oversee financial data migration strategy, mapping, validation, and reconciliation activities.
• Incorporate compliance controls and audit requirements, including SOX, IFRS, and GAAP considerations, into solution design.
• Lead testing strategy and validation activities across unit testing, system integration testing, and UAT to ensure end-to-end business process integrity.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop functional specifications and support development, integration, and deployment activities.
• Provide architectural guidance during cutover, go-live, and hypercare phases.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization of RTR processes following implementation.

• We are seeking a highly experienced RTR Architect to lead the end-to-end design and architecture of the Record-to-Report (RTR) process within a large-scale SAP S/4HANA Finance transformation program.

• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.
• Proven experience owning RTR solution design throughout full lifecycle SAP implementations, preferably Greenfield programs.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex finance process and configuration challenges.
• Excellent communication and executive stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business, IT, external vendors, and project leadership teams.
• Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.
• Preferred:
• SAP S/4HANA Finance Certification
