SAP S/4HANA Finance Solution Architect
We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Finance Solution Architect to lead the design, architecture, and configuration of SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions. This role will be responsible for defining finance transformation strategies, driving adoption of SAP leading practices, and ensuring scalable, compliant, and maintainable solutions across global finance organizations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA Finance, including Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), Asset Accounting, Project Accounting, Revenue Recognition, Record-to-Report (RTR), and financial reporting. The architect will serve as the primary advisor for finance process design, configuration decisions, solution governance, and business transformation initiatives. Relevant SAP S/4 leading practices include standardized end-to-end finance processes, embedded analytics, integrated finance and controlling, and adoption of SAP Fiori user experiences.
Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
Lead the end-to-end architecture and solution design for SAP S/4HANA Finance transformations.
Define future-state finance operating models leveraging SAP best practices and standard functionality.
Design scalable and maintainable solutions aligned with SAP Clean Core principles.
Provide thought leadership on finance process transformation and ERP modernization initiatives.
Evaluate business requirements and recommend optimal SAP standard capabilities before customizations.
Finance Process Leadership
Serve as the functional architecture lead across key finance domains: General Ledger,Accounts Payable,Accounts Receivable,Asset Accounting,Cost Center Accounting,Profit Center Accounting,Internal Orders,Project Accounting,Revenue Recognition,Consolidation and Financial Reporting,Treasury and Cash Management
Lead finance process redesign workshops and drive adoption of SAP leading practices.
Partner with Finance leadership to align business requirements with SAP solution capabilities.
SAP Configuration Leadership
Lead and govern SAP S/4HANA Finance configuration activities.
Define configuration standards for: Ledger Design,Company Codes,Chart of Accounts,Fiscal Year Variants,Posting Period Controls,Financial Statement Versions,Costing Structures,Parallel Accounting,Universal Journal (ACDOCA)
Review and approve functional specifications, configuration documents, and solution designs.
Ensure consistency across global deployments and member firm implementations. Ledger and accounting-principle design are critical tenant-level architecture decisions that affect reporting, compliance, and operational processes.
Reporting, Analytics & Controls
Architect financial reporting solutions utilizing:SAP Embedded Analytics,SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC),Financial Reporting Structures
Design solutions that support regulatory, statutory, management, and operational reporting requirements.
Ensure strong internal controls and auditability across financial processes.
Support finance organizations with KPI frameworks and executive reporting capabilities. Embedded analytics and integrated FI/CO reporting are key SAP S/4HANA finance leading practices.
Stakeholder Leadership
Facilitate executive and business stakeholder workshops.
Serve as trusted advisor to CFO organizations and finance leadership teams.
Collaborate closely with: Enterprise Architects,Data Migration Teams,Integration Teams,Reporting Teams,Security Teams,SAP Delivery Partners
Present recommendations and architecture decisions to leadership governance boards.
Delivery Leadership
Provide solution governance across all project phases: Discover,Design,Build, Test, Deploy,Hypercare
Support testing strategy, defect resolution, cutover planning, and production readiness activities.
Mentor SAP FI/CO consultants, business analysts, and functional leads.
Qualifications
10+ years of SAP Finance consulting experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.
5+ years serving as SAP Finance Lead or Solution Architect.
Multiple end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation programs.
Extensive experience leading global finance transformation initiatives.
Experience working directly with CFO organizations and Finance leadership.
SAP Expertise
Deep expertise in: SAP S/4HANA Finance,Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO),Universal Journal (ACDOCA),Asset Accounting,Project Systems / Professional Services,Revenue Recognition,Margin Analysis (CO-PA),Group Reporting,Financial Close Processes,Embedded Analytics,SAP Fiori
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud configuration and core organizational and financial design concepts is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of: Record-to-Report (RTR), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Project Financials, Revenue and Billing Processes, Internal Controls and Compliance, Professional Services Finance Operations
Business Expertise, Leadership Skills, Strong executive communication skills, Ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Resource should be located within commuting distance of Montvale, Dallas, or Chicago.
