Role: Production Planning/ Quality Management PPQM
Must-Have Skills
Core Responsibilities
Production Planning (PP)
- Configure Enterprise & PP master data: BOMs, Routings/Recipes, Work Centers/Resources, Production Versions, Control Keys.
- Set up Demand Management & MRP (lot-sizing, planning strategies, safety stock) and Capacity Planning (leveling, finite/infinite).
- Implement Shop-Floor Control: order types, release, confirmations, backflush, GI/GR, variance/WIP and order settlement.
- Deliver Manufacturing scenarios: Discrete, Process, Repetitive (REM with rate routings / product cost collectors). · Integrate with MES/LIMS or plant systems (IDoc/OData/API/PI/PO) for operations, parameters, and confirmations.
Quality Management (QM)
- Build Inspection Planning: Inspection Plans, MICs (quant/qual), sampling schemes, task lists.
- Execute Quality inspections: Lot creation (incoming, in-process, final), Results Recording, Usage Decisions, Quality Certificates.
- Manage Non-Conformance/CAPA: Q-Notifications, 8D/CAPA workflows, rework loops back to PP.
- Enable Vendor/Customer quality: Source inspections, vendor evaluation influence, delivery-related inspections.
- Ensure Compliance & Traceability: Batch/Serial management, classification, audit trail in regulated environments.
Integration & Data
- Cross-module integration:
o MM (GR-based inspection, batch/classification, GR/IV touchpoints) o SD (delivery-related inspections, certificates) o FI/CO (costing, order settlement, variance, WIP) o PM/EAM (calibration/maintenance-related inspections) o EWM/WM (QA-controlled bins, inspection handling in warehouse) · Data migration of PP/QM objects: BOMs, Routings, MICs, Inspection Plans, open production/inspection docs (LTMC/LSMW).
- Author FIT-GAP, functional specs, UT/IT/UAT scripts, cutover plans and hypercare playbooks.
Core Competencies (PP-QM)
- Manufacturing Master Data Excellence: Consistent governance for BOMs, Routings/Recipes, Work Centers, Production Versions, Inspection Plans & MICs.
- Planning Strategy & MRP Expertise: Strategy selection (MTS/MTO; 10/20/40/50), lot sizing, pegging, and exception handling.
- Shop-Floor Execution & Control: Efficient confirmations/backflush, movement postings, yield/reject accounting, and rework loops.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: End-to-end inspection lifecycle, UD logic, CAPA, certificates, and audit readiness (ISO/TS/GxP awareness).
- Integration Mindset: Seamless handshakes PPQMMM/SD/CO/PM/EWM and interfaces with MES/LIMS.
- Problem Solving & Analytics: Defect triage, root-cause analysis, stability KPIs (On-time production, quality yield, scrap/rework, inspection cycle times).
- Documentation & Change Control: Clean configs, transport discipline (ChaRM), test evidence, SOPs/Runbooks.
Must-Have Skills
PP
- BOM/Routings/Work Centers configuration and governance.
- MRP & Demand Management (parameters, planning strategies, safety stock).
- Shop-Floor Control: order setup, confirmations, backflush, GI/GR, variance/WIP, order settlement.
- Manufacturing Types: Discrete, Process, REM; Production Versions & Rate Routings.
QM
- Inspection Planning: Task lists, MICs, sampling procedures.
- Inspection Execution: Lot types (01, 03, 04, 08, 09, etc.), Results Recording, Usage Decision, Certificates.
- Q-Notifications & CAPA: Defect logging, workflows, and rework integration to PP. Technical/Tools · Customizing in SPRO for PP/QM; classification & batch/serial handling.
- Basic IDoc/OData/API for MES/LIMS integrations; transport management; test cycles (UT/IT/UAT).
- Experience on ECC or S/4HANA (including simplifications like mandatory production versions).
Good-to-Have Skills
- S/4HANA Fiori for PP/QM (app-based execution, embedded analytics/CDS).
- PP/DS (heuristics, pegging, capacity constraints) and IBP touchpoints.
- EWM-QM integration (QA-controlled bins, inspection in EWM).
- LIMS/SPC/QMS integration; digital signatures for regulated industries.
- Domain knowledge: Automotive (TS 16949/IATF 16949), Pharma (GxP), Food/Client, Medical Devices (ISO 13485).
- Enhancement know-how: BADIs/user-exits for PP/QM (e.g., CO11N/QEVA*), basic ABAP debugging.
- Automation & DevOps: Test automation, ChaRM, data load tooling (LTMC/LSMW), CI dashboards for ramp-up stability.
