Cloud ERP Technical Lead

Role Overview
Cloud ERP Technical Lead owns technical architecture and delivery for extensions, integrations, APIs, and user experiences around SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition using clean-core principles and SAP BTP. Own technical standards, solution quality, developer governance, operational support, and release readiness across ABAP Cloud/RAP, CAP, SAP Fiori/UI technologies, SAP Integration Suite, API Management, events, and approved extension patterns.
Key Responsibilities
Own the technical architecture and engineering standards for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition extensions and integrations.
Select the appropriate extensibility pattern key-user, developer extensibility/ABAP Cloud, side-by-side BTP extension, API/event integration based on clean-core principles and product constraints.
Lead ABAP Cloud development using RAP, CDS, released APIs/objects, service bindings, and approved developer extensibility patterns.
Lead side-by-side application/service development on SAP BTP using CAP and supported Cloud Foundry/Kyma services where appropriate.
Own API architecture and governance using SAP Integration Suite API Management, including security, lifecycle, versioning, policies, monitoring, and consumer onboarding.
Provide technical leadership for SAP Integration Suite Cloud Integration artifacts, interface patterns, error handling, observability, and operational support.
Define Fiori/UI architecture using SAPUI5/Fiori elements and supported extension approaches; ensure accessible, role-appropriate user experiences.
Review solution designs and code for performance, security, maintainability, supportability, and adherence to released SAP interfaces.
Establish CI/CD, transport/deployment, branching/versioning, code-quality, and technical documentation standards for BTP and cloud ERP artifacts.
Own technical root-cause analysis for high-severity production incidents involving extensions, APIs, integrations, events, or custom applications.
Partner with Security/IAM on OAuth, certificates, destinations, communication arrangements, roles, secrets, and least-privilege access.
Partner with functional leads to convert approved business requirements into technically supportable solutions without recreating standard SAP capability.
Assess SAP release changes for deprecated/released APIs, extension impacts, UI changes, and integration regression requirements.
Maintain technical debt and lifecycle roadmap for custom applications, APIs, integration flows, and reusable services.
Lead technical estimation, sprint planning, code review, test strategy, and vendor/developer quality assurance.
Produce architecture decisions, interface contracts, runbooks, monitoring standards, and support transition documentation.
SAP / Product-Specific Responsibilities
SAP BTP; SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition extensibility and integration.
ABAP Cloud and ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), CDS, OData services, and developer extensibility.
SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) for enterprise-grade services/applications on SAP BTP.
SAP Integration Suite Cloud Integration and API Management; API security, governance, lifecycle, and monitoring.
SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, Fiori elements, destinations/connectivity, events, and relevant BTP platform services.
Operational Responsibilities
Establish monitoring and support for integration flows, APIs, BTP applications, certificates/secrets, destinations, and custom services.
Drive root-cause elimination for recurring technical failures and implement proactive observability.
Maintain supported runtime/library versions and remediate technical debt before provider deprecations become production risks.
Ensure technical changes are regression-tested and coordinated through enterprise release governance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Enterprise Architecture, SAP functional leads, Integration, Security/IAM, Data, QA/Release, DevOps, business product owners, SAP support, and external engineering/SI teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of SAP technical delivery experience with strong S/4HANA-era architecture/development leadership.
Hands-on SAP BTP and cloud integration/extensibility experience.
Demonstrated experience with ABAP Cloud/RAP and/or CAP, APIs, and Fiori/UI development.
Experience leading production support and technical delivery in a SaaS/cloud ERP environment.
Required Technical / Functional Skills
SAP BTP architecture and services; Cloud Foundry concepts; destinations/connectivity and security patterns.
ABAP Cloud, RAP, CDS, OData, released APIs and developer extensibility.
CAP (Node.js and/or Java), service modeling, and side-by-side extension patterns.
SAP Integration Suite Cloud Integration and API Management.
SAP Fiori/SAPUI5/Fiori elements, REST/OData APIs, event-driven integration, CI/CD, monitoring, and secure development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SAP Event Mesh, HANA Cloud, Workflow/Build Process Automation, Kyma, or SAP Cloud ALM where used by the enterprise.
Experience modernizing legacy custom code toward clean-core extension patterns.
Current SAP certifications/learning credentials aligned to SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Extension Suite/development, and/or SAP S/4HANA Cloud developer extensibility.
