Vistra Corp is seeking an experienced
SAP ABAP Developer to join its team in a hybrid role based in the Dallas Fort Worth area. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in modern SAP ABAP development, with a focus on clean-core development principles and SAP-recommended extensibility techniques.
The developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting SAP applications using
standard SAP APIs, released CDS Views, BADIs, extension points, RAP-based services, and OData services, while minimizing custom modifications and following SAP best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain SAP ABAP applications and enhancements.
- Develop solutions using standard SAP APIs and released SAP objects wherever possible.
- Build and consume OData services for SAP and external application integrations.
- Develop and enhance Core Data Services (CDS Views).
- Implement business requirements using Business Add-Ins (BADIs) and SAP extension frameworks.
- Develop applications using the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
- Design and develop integration solutions following SAP clean-core principles.
- Perform code reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and technical teams to deliver scalable SAP solutions.
- Create technical documentation and participate in testing and deployment activities.
- Ensure solutions comply with SAP development standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong experience with ABAP programming.
- Experience developing and consuming OData Services.
- Hands-on experience with CDS Views (Core Data Services).
- Experience implementing BADIs and SAP enhancement frameworks.
- Experience with SAP Extension Points.
- Experience with SAP RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model).
- Experience using standard SAP APIs and released SAP objects.
- Strong understanding of SAP integration concepts.
- Experience with debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting ABAP applications.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
