Summary
- JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
- Performs sexual assault examinations while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Identifies medical stability or injuries, collects forensic evidence, provides/arranges for counseling and follow up care and testifies in courts when summoned. Collaborates with law enforcement, medical staff and community resources.

Staffed by nurses with specialized training, the SANE center provides immediate medical treatment, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, to patients who have experienced sexual violence. Additional counseling and patient support is also available.
- EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN Licensure required.
- Two (2) years RN experience required, one (1) year experience must be in an acute care setting.
- Healthcare Provider BLS required.
- AGH Sane Nurse Program:
- IAFN SANE-A or Oregon Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner certification required within one (1) year of hire.

Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. - Adaptability/Flexibility: Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to situations that may arise with high risk or diverse patient populations. Ability to adjust actions in relation to others and adapt to offer best possible care to patients.
- Time Management: Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.
- Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
