Job Title: Sample Lab Laborer
Location: Shakopee, MN

Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $20-$22/Hour
Work Model: Onsite – onsite
Hours: 7am-3:30pm

Summary
This position is responsible for performing final quality checks on samples prior to labeling and packaging, ensuring they meet established standards. The role offers opportunities for industry-specific material application training and skill development to support sales and customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Create and assemble color samples (12 x 12) of façade and floor products.
• Inspect samples and verify quality through comparison with approved control samples.
• Clean, organize, and prepare samples for labeling.
• Label, package, and palletize finished samples for shipment or storage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
• Assist with sample inventory management to support sales and customer requirements.
• Participate in on-the-job training and continuous learning.
• Produce samples for tradeshows and customer orders.
• Assist with mailroom and loading dock duties as needed.

Additional Responsibilities & Physical Requirements:

• Stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 75 lbs, with physical capability to perform manual tasks.
• Effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Consistently wear required PPE during all activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficiency in high school-level mathematics.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Preferred Skills:

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience or familiarity with:
  • Carpentry
  • Masonry
  • Adhesives, waterproofing, and joint sealants
  • Flooring systems
  • Concrete repair
  • Façade systems
  • Wall coatings
