Sample Assistant to support the Merchandising and Product teams.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $18/hr
Position Overview: The Sample Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to Merchandising and Product teams by receiving, tracking, organizing, photographing, and managing physical product samples. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment, and interested in the retail industry.
Responsibilities of the Sample Assistant:- Track incoming samples and communicate sample needs and deadlines to vendors.
- Receive, unpack, organize, and label physical product samples.
- Maintain accurate sample records and update sample locations.
- Photograph samples and upload images to digital records.
- Coordinate sample reviews with Merchandising and Product teams.
- Record sample feedback and approval decisions.
- Communicate sample feedback to vendors.
- Manage sample storage and respond to requests for samples.
- Assist with the organization and disposal/donation of approved samples.
Required Experience/Skills for the Sample Assistant:- 1+ years of related work experience and/or retail experience.
- Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in an office environment and handling physical samples.
- Ability to lift packages up to 35 lbs.
- Team player with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Sample Assistant:- Previous experience in retail, fashion, merchandising, or product development.
- Experience working with product samples or inventory.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Education Requirements:- High school diploma is required.
