Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Primary Territory: Big Rapids and areas north
Pay Rate: $36.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Our client is seeking a Sales Specialist to support large gas utility expansion projects across North Central Michigan. This position works closely with a collaborative sales team while serving as a liaison between customers, field sales staff, construction teams, and project stakeholders. In addition to direct customer outreach, this role provides support for complex customer situations, easement acquisition, and construction documentation.

The ideal candidate is comfortable interacting directly with customers, resolving challenging situations, coordinating with multiple internal teams, and managing detailed project documentation. Most of the work will take place in Big Rapids and north, so candidates located in North Central Michigan are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include conducting door-to-door sales outreach, assisting with securing easements, supporting complex customer installations, serving as a liaison for field sales coordinators, coordinating with construction and project teams, managing construction-related paperwork, collecting job cards from pipeline contractors, ensuring documentation is delivered for scanning and drafting, assisting with Maximo Work Order Design, maintaining accurate records, and supporting annual project goals.

This position requires strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills, along with the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and current auto insurance. Candidates must also be able to pay upfront for gas, food, and lodging while traveling. Travel-related expenses are reimbursed weekly.

Requirements:
Valid driver's license
Reliable personal vehicle with insurance
Experience working directly with customers in a sales or customer-facing role
Ability to secure easements and resolve complex customer situations
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
Experience with Maximo or similar work order management systems is preferred
Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and manage competing priorities
Ability to pay upfront for travel expenses, with weekly reimbursement provided
