United Logistic Services (ULS) is an established, asset-based transportation and logistics company serving the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. We provide drayage, transportation, and logistics solutions to importers, Exporters, brokers, and other supply-chain partners.

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead new customer acquisition and drive profitable revenue growth. This role is ideal for a highly motivated transportation sales professional who understands the logistics industry, knows how to develop relationships, and can consistently turn prospects into long-term customers.

The right candidate will be responsible for building a strong sales pipeline, developing new business opportunities, closing profitable accounts, and expanding ULS's customer portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a consistent strategy for generating new transportation and logistics business.
  • \n
  • Prospect, qualify, and develop relationships with new customers and strategic accounts.
  • \n
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline from initial prospecting through closing.
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities with importers, exporters, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, brokers, 3PLs, and other transportation partners.
  • \n
  • Conduct sales calls, customer meetings, presentations, and business reviews.
  • \n
  • Understand customer transportation requirements and work with ULS operations and pricing teams to develop competitive solutions.
  • \n
  • Prepare pricing proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and close new business while protecting profitability.
  • \n
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers and identify opportunities to expand account volume.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of prospects, opportunities, activities, and customer information in the CRM.
  • \n
  • Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, customer needs, and opportunities within the transportation and logistics industry.
  • \n
  • Work closely with Operations, Pricing, Customer Service, and Leadership to ensure a smooth transition from sales to execution.
  • \n
  • Meet or exceed agreed-upon sales, revenue, and customer acquisition targets.
  • \n
  • Take ownership of the sales process and consistently follow through from prospecting to closed business.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in B2B sales, preferably within transportation, trucking, freight, logistics, or supply chain.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop relationships, negotiate, and close new business.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of transportation and logistics sales cycles.
  • \n
  • Port drayage experience is preferred.
  • \n
  • Existing relationships within the Southern California transportation, logistics, freight, or importer community are a strong plus.
  • \n
  • Existing book of business is highly valued but not required.
  • \n
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into practical transportation solutions.
  • \n
  • Self-motivated, highly accountable, and comfortable working toward measurable revenue goals.
  • \n
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • \n
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with operations and leadership.
  • \n
  • CRM experience and proficiency with standard business tools.
  • \n

You will be expected to take ownership of your pipeline and results, not simply wait for inbound opportunities.
