Basic Function: Develop new sales opportunities within the assigned region to achieve company sales growth and profitability goals. Act as a liaison between plant staff and customers and strengthen relationships with existing customers to ensure continued sales growth.
Essential Functions:
Meet or exceed sales goals.
Generate new sales opportunities and obtain requests for quotations (RFQs). Forward RFQs to the Cost Estimator and clarify any issues.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers in the assigned region.
Develop relationships with key personnel at accounts, including executive leadership, plant, engineering, metallurgical, and purchasing teams.
Follow up on quotations to secure opportunities and coordinate negotiations with internal team members.
Act as a liaison during product launches to resolve technical or logistical issues between customers and plant teams.
Utilize various sales and marketing channels, including internet, cold calls, and referrals.
Spend at least 60% of the time meeting with qualified prospects and customers.
Document all prospect and customer activities in the company CRM and provide timely updates to leadership.
Monitor the customer base and market for changes, and recommend sales trends and investment opportunities to management.
Assess competition periodically and document findings in CRM.
Resolve customer payment issues in coordination with the accounting team.
Communicate price adjustments to customers.
Prepare detailed sales forecasts monthly.
Use ERP system data to analyze customer sales trends and budget deviations.
Network at tradeshows, industry events, and trade associations.
Maintain high industry knowledge and stay updated on trends and issues.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
At least 5 years of technical sales experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to create new business opportunities and achieve aggressive sales growth.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (Salesforce experience is a plus).
Experience using social media as a sales and marketing tool.
Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Willingness to travel up to 50% to visit customer locations.
