Job Overview:

The Sales Manager - Data Center Power Generation will play a key role in supporting some of the world's largest and most advanced data center infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for developing customer relationships, driving business growth, and managing the sales process for medium-voltage generator systems and backup power solutions across hyperscale, colocation, and EPC accounts. As a trusted advisor to customers, the Sales Manager will work closely with engineering, project management, and executive stakeholders to develop power solutions that support mission-critical operations. The role offers the opportunity to engage in large-scale, high-value projects, contribute to the growth of a rapidly expanding market, and collaborate with industry-leading organizations shaping the future of digital infrastructure. This position combines technical and commercial responsibilities, including solution development, account management, project pursuit leadership, proposal development, contract negotiations, and customer engagement throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates will have the opportunity to work on complex power generation applications supporting the continued growth of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data center technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of multi-megawatt generator and power system projects with hyperscale data centers, colocation providers, EPC firms, and consulting engineers.
  • Lead sales efforts for large-scale backup power projects, including pricing, proposal development, contract negotiations, and commercial strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with executive and technical stakeholders within strategic accounts and key industry partners.
  • Develop account plans aligned with customer growth, capacity expansion, and long-term infrastructure requirements.
  • Support technical solution development for generator systems, medium-voltage power systems, switchgear, and data center power architectures.
  • Coordinate RFQ/RFP responses and collaborate with engineering, project management, supply chain, and other internal teams throughout the sales cycle.
  • Manage project pursuits from opportunity identification through contract award and delivery transition, including change order and risk management.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, order management, and service teams to ensure alignment between customer requirements and project execution.
  • Monitor competitive activity, pricing trends, specification changes, and developments in the data center and power infrastructure markets.
  • Provide market and customer insights to support business planning, product strategy, and go-to-market initiatives.

Requirements:

  • High School Dioplma
  • 3+ years of technical sales experience, ideally in data center, power generation, or mission-critical infrastructure

Preferences:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Experience with long sales cycles (12-36 months)
  • Knowledge of generator systems and backup power applications
  • Knowledge of medium-voltage electrical systems (5-15 kV)
  • Understanding of data center power infrastructure and redundancy architectures
  • Experience with power generation and electrical distribution solutions
  • Commercial proposal development and bid management
  • Contract review and negotiation processes
  • Deal structuring and commercial agreement management
  • Financial analysis related to project opportunities and customer solutions
  • Pricing strategy development and margin analysis
  • Market, customer, and competitive assessment within the power generation industry

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:

Remote with the ability to travel up to 50% within the USA and in Canada.

Pay Range:

The total pay range for this role, not including incentive opportunities, is $120,000 - $140,000. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive (discretionary/nondiscretionary) annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
