Tubular Products Sales Manager

Location: Near Mont Belvieu, Texas

Summary

The Tubular Products Sales Manager is responsible for leading and executing the commercial strategy for the carbon steel welded tubing business. This role focuses on driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, developing strategic customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities within distribution, structural construction, automotive, trailer manufacturing, ranch and agricultural equipment, and other value-added industrial markets.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven sales leader with strong technical and commercial knowledge of raw tubular products. This person must be capable of managing a sales team, developing key accounts, negotiating contracts, and guiding customers throughout the complete sales cycle.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow market share, profitability, and customer relationships for carbon steel welded tubing across Texas and targeted regional markets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, strategic accounts, and sales territories within distribution, construction, automotive, trailer, agricultural equipment, structural fabrication, and related value-added markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, contractors, fabricators, OEMs, and end users to drive long-term business growth.
  • Prepare and manage quotations, project bids, contracts, pricing strategies, sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and market analysis to support strategic planning and management review.
  • Lead, coach, and manage the sales team dedicated to the tubular-products line, establishing goals and accountability for territory execution, customer development, and commercial performance.
  • Coordinate closely with operations, production, logistics, and customer service to ensure accurate order processing, timely fulfillment, and alignment between customer requirements, quotations, and production capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, forecasting, and order tracking within ERP and CRM systems while proactively resolving customer and operational concerns.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, product demand, and customer feedback to guide pricing, margin, and growth decisions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, reinforce customer service standards, and promote operational excellence across commercial activities.
  • Travel as required for customer visits, trade shows, industry events, and sales meetings throughout the assigned territory.

Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of industrial or metals sales experience, including direct responsibility for tubular products, mechanical tubing, structural tubing, or closely related carbon steel products.
  • Demonstrated experience selling raw tubular products into distributors, OEMs, fabricators, or value-added industrial markets.
  • A customer base and market understanding that extends beyond OCTG or oil-and-gas-only applications.
  • Proven ability to develop business opportunities, manage key accounts and sales professionals, maintain pipelines, and support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Experience with project-based sales, quotations, bid processes, contracts, and industrial customer requirements.
  • Working knowledge of tubing specifications, applications, pricing, margins, lead times, processing, logistics, and customer qualification.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, customer service, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with ERP and CRM systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; SAP experience is preferred.
  • Associate degree or higher in business, engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are preferred.
  • Residence in Texas and the ability to travel throughout the Houston-area territory and to the Dayton-area operation as business needs require.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $100,000-$115,000. General benefits include health coverage, dental coverage, and paid time off.
