About the Company

Our client is building its North American operation from the ground up. They manufacture structural, injection-molded and electrical components, supplying Tesla's automotive and robotics programs. You would be one of the first hires in a new office between Palo Alto and Fremont, which will have a team of three by the end of the year.

The Role

You'll be the day-to-day technical contact with Tesla's engineering team. You'll manage requirements from early prototype samples through to production launch. The role is mostly technical with a light commercial side, and it suits an engineer who likes to own a program.

What You'll Do

  • Work daily with Tesla's engineering team on technical changes, prototypes and design revisions
  • Manage sample deliveries and preliminary program timing
  • Run programs from award through to launch
  • Coordinate with the manufacturing team in Detroit and the engineering team at headquarters in Asia
  • Help set up the new Bay Area office and its ways of working

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of automotive or robotics engineering experience
  • Direct experience with Tesla's engineering and program processes, either as a Tesla employee or working closely alongside them at a supplier
  • Familiarity with interiors, electrical or structural components (deep specialism not required)
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team
  • Able to work from the Bay Area office with occasional travel
